Are you interested in assisting at Golden Gate School this year? Assistant and model positions are a chance to serve your association, and take advantage of the educational benefits of the school and have the opportunity to work closely with some of the best photographers in the profession today. Preference is given to individuals who have demonstrated a personal commitment to professional photography and active participation in PPGBA. Recipients of these scholarships receive free tuition but must stay on campus and pay for room and board (at a reduced rate). Course assignment/s determined by staff. Apply by March 31. PPGBA honors and recognizes the founders of this association, one of the largest local chapters of the Professional Photographers of America through a scholarship program. This scholarship is designed to help the recipient stay current with new styles and trends in photography. Any photographer may apply for the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded based on financial need and the applicant's record of service to the photographic profession as demonstrated by active participation in local and state associations. The scholarship includes tuition to any course at the upcoming Golden Gate School but does not include room and board. Application deadline is April 10. For an application, please contact GGS.

In addition to the above scholarships, PPGBA awards three additional tuition-only scholarships to Golden Gate School:

The Ted Gurney Service Scholarship: one per year for a volunteer who is recognized for exceptional contributions to the association

The New Member Scholarship: a random drawing from all the new members joining over the past year. This scholarship honors Arthur Madsen Jr. for the years 2007, 2008 & 2009.

The General Member Scholarship: a random drawing - 1 chance for every member, plus 1 additional chance for each time a member enters print competition.
