Bert Behnke, M.Photog.Cr.Hon.M.Photog.

A day with Bert & Cindy Behnke is never the same as the day before it. They live life by doing what they love, every day. Their program will motivate, excite, enlighten and probably surprise many of you. Their philosophy is all about creating your lifestyle, then designing your business around it. But whatever you may think now, it will make you question everything. Instead of asking why, you will believe “why not!”

For years, the Behnke’s have been heavily involved in their profession, it has always been where their heart is. They have always taken the path of leadership, both serving as their state association presidents and Bert serving as PPA President

After watching the profession go through so many changes, they decided it was time to evolve, time to share their decades of experience with their peers, they both came to the realization that photographers are crying out for the everyday solutions to their business.

“A Family Circle” is a full day of almost everything today’s photographer needs to run their business and their life. They’ll touch on almost every aspect in this all-day program. There will be live photographic sessions, marketing ideas, studio design ideas, equipment discussions, studio set-up demonstrations, audiovisual shows, projection selling demonstrations, production and retouching demos, do-it-yourself projects, money-making ideas and maybe even some dancing!

The program will show how the family portrait business is critical not only to their business, but to the survival of so many photographers everywhere. Whether you specialize in weddings, seniors, children or families, this program is designed to show how they all relate to the family photographer and the success of the photography studio.

Take a look at their website, www.behnkephoto.com to get a little preview of what Bert and Cindy will bring to their presentation, “A Family Circle”.

How to Identify Clients, Bring in New Business and Never be Rejected

Based on Maria Piscopo’s book, The Photographer’s Guide to Marketing & Self-Promotion, this program has been updated for today’s new client. You probably have found they are harder to find and more difficult to keep! Maria’s new marketplace “overview” will give you the information you need to find and keep clients. Her techniques are specific, efficient and cost-effective for every area of photography.

Topics include: identifying your direction and updating your marketing message, reducing rejection when calling clients, dealing better with voice mail, “no-fail” selling scripts and planning different presentations to get your work in the door and using new follow-up techniques to give you a competitive edge. Learn how to use pricing scripts and role-play techniques to convince your clients that you’re the best (not the cheapest) person for the job. Find out how to tell a client what it would cost them to pay less.

Whether you are making a transition to a new area of photography or improving the level of assignments you want to get, this step-by-step program will get you there. This workshop will give you an unbeatable edge over your competition. Even experienced professionals will get new ideas!

Maria Piscopo www.mpiscopo.com has been an art/photo rep for twenty five years and is based in Southern California. She writes magazine articles for industry publications such as Shutterbug Magazine and Communication Arts. Maria is a member of Society of Photographers and Artist’s Reps and teaches classes for creative professionals at local colleges as well as national and international industry associations and conferences. She is the author of Graphic Designer’s and Illustrator’s Guide to Marketing and Promotion and 3rd edition Photographer’s Guide to Marketing and Self- Promotion - both published by Allworth Press, www.allworth.com

TESTIMONIALS FOR MARIA’S PROGRAMS:

Jonathan Orfanos, Past President PPSV, member AfWPI. Thank you for your lively and informative presentation. Usually photographers are reluctant to sit through a business oriented presentation, but the comments I have received have been enthusiastically positive. More members enjoyed your workshop than any other business workshop we have had in the past. Most agreed that your extensive knowledge of your subject matter and lively personality made for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you again, it was a pleasure working with you and getting to know you.

American Society of Media Photographers/Portland, Oregon I’ve read her book, but seeing Maria live was incredibly valuable. The next day I put her techniques and scripts to work right away, and put together one of the best bids I’ve ever done. Cheers, Andy Batt – Photographer, Owner and Therese Gietler – Studio Manager, Owner

Ron Gould. ASMP/Chicago Midwest This was Maria’s third time in five years to give a marketing presentation to the ASMP Chicago/Midwest chapter. As always her grasp of the industry as it is, and where it’s going is insightful. She captures the future in ways we can use today to anticipate and plan for tomorrow.

From her own experiences, she will explain how networking is an essential part of growing your business. Her goal is to help you understand how using the right marketing mix and creating your own style can get you a lot of referrals and help build your brand even in a slow market.

Anna Myers is a widely acclaimed photographic artist who specializes in creating extraordinary images that are spontaneous, artistic and unforgettable.
